For part of my “job” I had to find all the verse in the Gospels where people were amazed, specifically at Jesus. During the process of that research/study I came across only two instances of when Jesus was amazed.
And what was the one key item that caused Jesus to be amazed? Faith. Not miracles of others, not holiness, not love, but faith. In one instance he was amazed at a communities lack of faith, not a good thing. The second he was amazed the faith of one man, of which he said was the greatest he had encountered in all of Jerusalem.
Faith amazed Jesus, but isn’t it sad that he wasn’t used to encountering it? If he met me, would be find me to be faithful?
I just thought that was an interesting insight from studying the scriptures that has been jogging around in my mind.
