Who Are These Guys First real Episode

by Tony Steward on June 24, 2007

Well, Josh and I have dared to start calling our podcasts “real” episodes. Our first “How to work under a boomer leader”, talks about how most of younger leaders are working for people generationally called “boomers” between 45 and 60. We reference an article from Fast Company that speaks to boomers about us, and then go into our suggestions on how to succeed when under their leadership.

The "single dad" experiment

by Tony Steward on June 16, 2007

Mandy has been at a scrapbooking convention or classes (or whatever that cult requires) for the last 4 days. So, it has been a single dad experiment.

Here are my observations:
1. There are not nearly enough drive thru’s, period. Groceries should have a drive thru service where you can order ahead and just pay and pick it up from your car. In Ohio there are drive thru’s every where, of course they are called “Brew Thru’s”, but they have a lot more than just beer. And Starbucks, seriously? No drive thru’s anywhere? (ugh, withdrawal)
2. Play grounds suck for the 4 and under. Why? Because they are death traps that require a parent to be near by before your kid is hanging upside down by one leg with a bloody face. I swear, it is like they took a note from the TV Show Gladiators to build these things. Oh, and the “soft” wood chips you have for them to land on? They keep piercing through my sandals and almost embedding themselves into my foot, good call…
3. Little girls pee. ALOT
4. There are even less places for 12-24 month year olds to just play.
5. Cleaning the house when you have little kids is like trying to clean a dirt road.
6. No baby changing tables in men’s restrooms? Seriously? man…

I am sure there are more, but those are the stand outs, hehe…

Josh and Tony review their thoughts on social networking, especially in the context of their familiarity - youth ministry. And they have a special guest pop in…
