Okay, over the past 6 years I have definitely turned into an Apple FanBoy. I preordered the newest Mac Operating System, called Leopard, and had it before the stores were selling it at 6pm today.
Yes - I have fallen head first into nerdom.
Anyways, the upgrade to the new software was painless and I am excited to see all the new features!

Are you experiencing an ever increasing amount of information coming at you everyday? I feel like I spend a lot of my day playing digital librarian. But it is more than organizing the information, it is interacting with it in a way that makes that info more valuable. So, processing and organizing.
Have you noticed this?
What systems or practices have you found have helped you stay ahead of the flood?

As the new TV Season started this year I signed up for every TV Show I thought might be mildly entertaining. Over the last week I went through and started cutting out all the shows that felt lame, were not going anywhere or just stunk (Cane and Bionic Woman were at the top of the lame list). Anyways, a surprise for me has been how much I like the tv show Chuck. It isn’t trying to be a serious super spy show like an Alias or 24, it is a comedy. But is has enough cool, CIA, and spy stuff to make it an interesting show each week (so far).
What is your favorite show this season?

What are the weekly habits or workplace practices that no one uses or that are really just a huge waist of time?
THIS ARTICLE from lifehacker.com talks about how most people under 30 don’t leave or listen to voicemail. They use their missed call list as a page system, and then just call people back. I don’t know about you but I do this all the time, especially in regards to listening to voicemail. You can’t scan it for the good or relevant parts like you can text, not that I have ever gotten a voicemail that was irrelevant or to general to be of any use…
Another practice the article from lifehacker.com is the weekly monday over meeting. I would have to agree. Meetings are so subject to being an enormous waist of time, just doing on to do it makes it even harder to not suck. I saw an idea that I really like using meeting tokens over at 43folders.com. I would love to implement this in my own company when it becomes necessary.
What do you think, what are the practices that need to die in your work place, or if you have a creative way of keeping things on track, share that to!

Facebook, and social networks in general, have often been talked about in regards to specifically targeted advertising based upon the content published and shared through the sites. Of course there are all kinds of issues as to privacy and the usability of these services after advertising enters into this space, but Facebook seems to be making a first step with the new Facebook Flyers. Techcrunch has an article on this and here is an excerpt:
The big promise of advertising on social networks has always been the ability to target members by their own self-proclaimed interests and demographics. Facebook, as expected, has quietly taken a step in that direction with its Facebook Flyers ads (these are sidebar advertising widgets that Facebook still controls, as opposed to the majority of ad inventory on Facebook that falls under its deal with Microsoft). In terms of revenues, these Flyers probably don’t amount to much yet, but this is one Faecbook experiment worth keeping an eye on.

This makes it so worth it to live in California. One of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.
