Okay, trying to figure out Apple and it’s PR strategy of elitism vs. cool vs. green vs. goodwill is pretty much impossible. But I thought this was an interesting gesture on their part. They are giving kids affected by the California wildfires free ipods. Of course this gets them free exposure because of the hot topic (no pun intended) surrounding the fires and their new iPods. Maybe the kids could have used some clothes, or a bed, or help getting a new home? On the other hand – having something fun like a cool ipod after a tragedy like that would be pretty encouraging.
