Habit Hack: Index Card Style

by Tony Steward on January 14, 2008

Okay, you can see from my previous post that I am trying to develop some new habits! They fall into what I would call “lifestyle tipping points” - like what I talked about in my blog post on how to approach new years resolutions.

Anyways, I have been getting into using index cards and a Moleskine Memo Pocket notebook to keep track of life. If you know Getting Things Done, this is my mobile / mental inbox to capture things when I am out and about. Anyways, that is where the index card idea comes from. Here are a couple of pictures below. The keys for the hack are 1) phrasing the goals as a sentence, 2) signing and dating it 3) putting a progress checker in the back where you mark off days. This is for when you are at week 3 and beyond to keep encouraging to keep up what you have been doing already. Anyways, here are the pics!
