Do you know what the most important communication device is in everyone’s life? Their mobile phone. Of course these devices are doing much more than just making and receiving calls, SMS and MMS messaging is huge as well as mobile web access and more.
In fact in my experience this next generation either lives on the web or on their phones, they aren’t much interested in email until after they enter the work force. And even then it is only for work, to really connect to them is directly to their phone.
Does your church communications strategy take people’s mobile phones into account?
Right now depending on where your church is at it probably won’t make a huge difference, but with news like this coming from the Mobile World Congress will start changing that quickly. Google launched software recently for mobile phones to work on and now are backing it up with their own handset. All indications are that Google will want to release the phone at a very low price, but fully integrated with their products to continue to drive their advertising business model.
