Since my family and I literally leave for Oklahoma very early tomorrow morning I don’t have a lot of time to do the kind of post I hope to next week about all the learnings and exciting things that came out of #churchtechcamp. But, here are my bullet points – and I’d love your feedback!
- Twitter is the best way to connect with people who are passionate about what you are – especially on the fly. Oh, and Twitter blogged about us today!!
- Mogulus totally rocks. Seriously, loving that app right now.
- CoveritLive – is next level live blogging and engagement with a virtual gathering. I LOVE how it worked today – definitely a must to check out.
- There were so many people who I meet today that are incredible at what they do, we had to stop early today because our heads were so crammed with new ideas, processing and engaging with incredibly intelligent people.
- We had 30+ people show up at Fuller (thanks a ton Fuller Seminary for hosting us!). But we had 50+ people interacting with us virtually all day. Love that part!
- There were several moments in the day when we were having good conversation, but we were letting technology start to define the church. It was an awkward moment and I think we need to make sure that technology doesn’t try to structure church or theology, but that the other way around.
- Eric Busby and Matt Fazier are geniuses at understanding the technologist mindset, and the real issues involved in the mission for tech and the church moving forward.
- There are a ton of requests for #churchtechcamp in other locations. Give us a couple weeks to work through what worked well here and how to make a “kit” – and then we can start to think about what’s next.
- And lastly – a quesiton. DJ brought up a a #churchtechcamp blog. What do you think that would look like, and what value would you see in it? Should we create that or just keep blogging from our personal blogs?
(as soon as I get better internet connection I will get the recorded elements of #churchtechcamp rolling on mogulus, got get to the big move!)
